Sisirendu Gupta did his MSc from the University of Calcutta. His specialization was in applied mathematics and theoretical physics. He was a Lecturer, Applied Mathematics, University of Calcutta and a Reader in Theoretical Physics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.
Academic and Research Achievements: Gupta and his coworkers did original work in mathematical physics, particularly, with reference to Dirac electron and meson theory. He specialized in quantum mechanics and numerical analysis.
Other Contributions: Gupta served as the Editorial Secretary and Vice-President of Calcutta Mathematical Society.
