Farookh Nigam Mowdawalla (AMIE) specialized in electrical engineering and did research on ac motors. He served as the Professor of Electrical Technology, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Principal and Professor, Electrical Engineering, University College of Engineering, Bangalore.

Other Contributions: As Superintending Engineer in Northwest Frontier Province, Mowdawalla put the government electricity department on a sound footing.
