B Sundararaj did his PhD (1923) from University of Liverpool, UK. He was Director of Fisheries at Chennai and also Fisheries Advisor, Socio-economic Division, Department of Fisheries, Sri Lanka.
Academic and Research Achievements: Sundararaj was an authority on the development of fisheries in India. He was responsible for organizing several surveys and establishment of fisheries.
Awards and Honours: Dr Sundararaj was elected President of the Zoology Section of Indian Science Congress (1928). He was also Fellow/Member of the Asiatic Society, Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore, British Association for the Advancement of Science, and Zoological Society of India.
