Sasindra Chandra Dhar obtained his first DSc (1923) from the University of Calcutta and his second DSc (1936) from the University of Edinburgh, specializing in mathematics. He worked as a Lecturer, University of Calcutta before going on to become Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics in Nagpur University.
Academic and Research Achievements: Dhar made notable contributions to Mathien’s equation, theorems in the geometry of masses, and elliptic cylinder functions.
Awards and Honours: Professor Sasindra Chandra Dhar held Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
