Eustacl Tanfield Vachell did his MA (1916) from University of Cambridge, UK. Thereafter, he worked as Senior Geologist, Burmah Oil Company (1919-43) and Senior Geologist, Geological Survey of India.

Academic and Research Achievements: Vachell made extensive geological investigations in India, Burma and Pakistan.

Other Contributions: Vachell served as Member, Council of Mining and Metallurgical Institute of India and Institute of Petroleum.

Awards and Honours: Dr Vachell was elected Fellow of the Geological Society of London and Society of Antiquaries, London.
