Phanindra Bhushan Ganguly obtained his DSc degree from the University of London, UK. His specialization was in physical chemistry and colloids. He was the Professor of Physical Chemistry and Principal, Science College, Patna where he worked from 1923 to 1952.
Academic and Research Achievements: Ganguly’s researches, specially in colloid chemistry, fetched him the Doctorate. Later, he worked on contact catalysis and did fundamental work on silica gel and the constitution of silicate solutions.
Other Contributions: Ganguly was responsible for organizing the Physical Chemistry Laboratory of the Science College, Patna.
Awards and Honours: Ganguly was the President, Chemistry Section of the Indian Science Congress (1949).
