Protap Chandra Bose obtained his BSc Hons (Engg) degree (1923) from the University of Glasgow, UK. His area of specialization was environmental engineering. He was an Executive Engineer and a Chief Engineer, Calcutta Corporation.

Academic and Research Achievements: Bose was responsible for the efficient working of the entire drainage system of Kolkata. He framed the drainage projects of the city, and was in charge of the main drainage extension scheme. Under his supervision detailed plans were made, and the scheme was executed.
