Krishna Behari obtained his PhD (1933) from University of Edinburgh, UK specializing in agricultural zoology and plant protection. He was the Plant Protection Adviser to the Government of India and Director, Locust control, New Delhi (1953-62) and Plant Protection Specialist for the Near East, FAO, Cairo (1962-69).

Academic and Research Achievements: Lal’s research related to the taxonomic description of parasitic and other Hymenoptera, mostly Braconide. Awards and Honours: Lal was a Member, Entomological Society of India (also President) and Fellow, Royal Entomological Society and Indian Standards Institution (now Bureau of Indian Standards).
