He has worked on biosynthesis of ascorbic acid in rats and of sucrose and shikimic acid in plants. His work also includes: development of analytical techniques like paper chromatography; paper electrophoresis and radio autography; structure and function of casein and its fractions; formulation of infant food through appropriate chemical and biochemical tailoring to simulate human milk; and new extender for preservation and freezing of buffalo semen. He has written a monograph, namely, Milk Proteins (ICAR, 1973) and a book Semen Technology (INSA, 1984).
Other Contributions: Ganguli had served as Member, Diary Science Panel on Diary Education (FAO) and International Diary Federation, Group D2 E14, Brussels, and represented India in FAO/WHO Codex Meeting (Rome, 1972). Awards and Honours: Ganguli was conferred BC Guha Memorial Lecture of University of Calcutta (1978). Ganguli is a recipient of Professor SC Roy Commemoration Medal (1982); Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Memorial Prize of ICAR (1987); P Bhattacharya Memorial Prize and Lecture Award (1988); and CSIRO (Australia) Diary Research Jubilee Award (1990).
