Dr Samrath Lal Chaplot is a Raja Ramanna Fellow at the Physics Group at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, India. He joined BARC through the 18th batch (1974-1975) of the BARC Training School and retired in 2015 as the Director of the Physics Group at BARC. He was a Research Associate at University of Edinburgh, U. K. (1979-1981), and an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Germany (1992-1993). He is an elected Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and the National Academy of Sciences, India and an Academician in the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials. He was selected an ‘Outstanding Referee’ by American Physical Society for Physical Review Letters and Physical Review. He serves as the President of the Indian Physics Association for the term 2014-2016. His research is focused on neutron scattering experiments and investigation of the structures and dynamics of condensed matter. |
