Summary

Despite the emergence of the concepts of “atom-economy” and “green chemistry”, single-step one-pot efficient syntheses have received less attention to provide first rate alternative to traditional functional group organic chemistry. Directed toward such challenging goals, Singh’s group has developed operationally simple, highly selective, one-pot, eco-compatible domino/cascade reactions for various molecules of academic and industrial interest. By virtue of astonishing success of newly developed domino reactions with regard to atom/step/cost-economy, sustainability, versatility, scope, and applicability, they have received significant attention of synthetic, medicinal, and material chemists. Many groups are using these methods in their synthetic studies. Extraordinarily, the remarkable renovation of a simple molecule beta-oxodithioester has been achieved towards its diversification for variety of purposes exhibiting power and diversity of annulations presenting highly focused area. An effective control for the selective cleavage and formation of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom (C-N, C-O & C-S) bonds in one-pot in a single operation have been achieved under mild conditions, showing significant contribution toward pre-eminent goal of new aspects of organic synthesis. Additionally, Prof. Singh has published five text books form Pearson-Education, Singapore; Wiley-VCH, Weinheim, Germany.
