Dr Vineet Gahalaut is a seismologist working in the field of Tectonic Geodesy. He uses GPS measurements of crustal deformation to understand the fault kinematics and geodynamics, rupture parameters of earthquakes, strain budget, seismic potential of a region, seismogenesis, etc. He operates a strong GPS network in the interplate (Andaman, Indo-Burmese arc and Himalayan arc) and intraplate (stable region of peninsular India) region of India. \r\nHe is a recipient of PRL award, Anni Talwani and Krishnan gold medal by IGU, INSA Young Scietist and CSIR Young Scientist award. |
