Prasun K. Mukherjee obtained his B.Sc. (Ag.) degree from Visva-Bharati with first position in \\r\\n1985, and M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, minor Plant Breeding, from GB Pant\\r\\nUniversity of Agriculture and Technology in 1987 and 1991, respectively, with an OGPA of 5\\r\\nout of 5. After one year postdoctoral research at ICRISAT, he joined BARC as Scientific Officer\\r\\nin 1993. He served as a Principal Scientist (on deputation) at CICR, Nagpur from 2011-2013.\\r\\nAcademic and Research Achievements:\\r\\nPrasun K. Mukherjee’s work on Trichoderma is nationally and internationally recognized. He\\r\\nhas published more than 80 research papers and reviews in high impact journals which are\\r\\nhighly cited. In addition to high quality basic research, he has developed many technologies,\\r\\nnotable ones being the rapid composting technology and a seed treatment formulation based\\r\\non a mutant strain of Trichoderma virens, which has been registered with the Central\\r\\nInsecticides Board and Registration Committee. His technologies have been transferred to\\r\\nmany agencies and companies which have launched several commercial products that are\\r\\navailable in the Indian market.\\r\\nAwards and Honours: Prasun K. Mukherjee was a recipient of Govt. of India National\\r\\nScholarship and Dr. KS Krishnan DAE Research Fellowship. He has also been an Agricultural\\r\\nResearch Service (Plant Pathology -1991) topper. He received several awards including Prof.\\r\\nMJ Narasimhan Academic Merit Award and JF Dastur Award of the Indian Phytopathological\\r\\nSociety, Pran Vohra Award of Indian Science Congress Association, BOYSCAST Fellowship of\\r\\nDST, Fulbright Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship, VASVIK Award, DAE\\r\\nGroup Achievement Award (twice as a group leader), and Homi Bhabha Science and\\r\\nTechnology Award. He is an elected Fellow National Academy of Sciences, India, and National\\r\\nAcademy of Agricultural Sciences. He has been a postdoctoral scholar and visiting scientist,\\r\\ntwice to Texas A&M University and thrice to Israel Institute of Technology. Dr. Mukherjee has\\r\\nedited three books and is on the Editorial Board of three international journals.
