इन्सा की प्रकाशन गतिविधियों की जड़ें वर्ष 1935 में अकादमी की स्थापना की गहराई तक हैं, जो अकादमी की प्रमुख गतिविधियों में से एक है। गतिविधियों में तीन प्रमुख जर्नलों का प्रकाशन शामिल है, अर्थात् प्रोसिडिंग्स ऑफ इंडियन नेशनल साइंस एकेडमी, इंडियन जर्नल ऑफ प्योर एंड एप्लाइड मैथमेटिक्स (आईजेपीएएम) और इंडियन जर्नल ऑफ हिस्ट्री ऑफ साइंस (आईजेएचएस)। इसके अलावा, अकादमी समय-समय पर अपनी ईयर बुक, वार्षिक रिपोर्ट, इन्सा समाचार, फेलोगण का संग्रह और दिवंगत फेलोगण के जीवनी संबंधी संस्मरण, विशेष प्रकाशन और इन्सा सेमिनार/संगोष्ठी की कार्यवाही नियमित रूप से प्रकाशित करती है। अकादमी ने प्रकाशन गतिविधियों को मजबूत करने के लिए बहुमूल्य मार्गदर्शन प्रदान करने के लिए एक प्रकाशन सलाहकार बोर्ड (पीएबी) का गठन किया है।

Proceedings of the Indian National Science Academy
The Proceedings is a broad scope peer reviewed journal publishing original research articles, reviews, commentaries/opinion, meeting reports, book reviews and Academy news. The scope of journal encompasses physics, chemical sciences, earth & planetary sciences, engineering & technology, material sciences & engineering, plant sciences, animal sciences, microbiology & immunology, cell & bio-molecular sciences and health sciences and agricultural sciences.
Articles in areas of pure and applied mathematics, which are of interest to a broad readership, and those based on Indian National Science Academy (INSA) award lectures and reviews/surveys contributed by newly elected INSA fellows and other awardees can be considered for publication in the journal. However, we recommend submitting original research articles in mathematics to our mathematics journal, IJPAM.
All articles, including those invited, are peer-reviewed. In addition to the regular issues, Special Issues or Sections on thematic topics are also published periodically.
The journal has an illustrious history-it started when the then National Institute of Sciences of India, now the Indian National Science Academy, was inaugurated on 7 January 1935 at Calcutta and commissioned this journal, Proceedings of the National Institute of Sciences of India, in the same year, for publishing articles from all the branches of science. As the number of accepted papers increased, the journal was bifurcated in 1955 into two parts – Part A (Physical Sciences) and Part B (Biological Sciences). When the National Institute of Sciences of India was renamed as the Indian National Science Academy in 1970, the journal became Proceedings of the Indian National Science Academy. It continued to be published in two parts with six issues each in a calendar year. In 1997, the Academy decided to publish only review articles of contemporary scientific interest, evaluating advances and newer approaches in the given field. The emphasis thus shifted from being a vehicle of original research reports into one of reviews, and comprehensive summary reports on chosen topics. Thus from the beginning of January 1998, the Proceedings brought out thematic issues containing invited reviews on current scientific topics. Beginning from the year 2006, the Academy merged the Parts A and B so that each issue of the Proceedings is inter-disciplinary and covers areas under Physical, Biological and Applied Sciences, including Engineering and today the journal publishes original articles along with reviews.

इंडियन जर्नल ऑफ हिस्ट्री ऑफ साइंस
अकादमी द्वारा स्थापित “विज्ञान का इतिहास के लिए भारतीय राष्ट्रीय आयोग” के मार्गदर्शन में अब चार से अधिक दशकों से प्रकाशित। यह पत्रिका पहली बार 1966 में अर्धवार्षिक रूप से प्रकाशित की गई थी। इस क्षेत्र के गति पकड़ने के साथ लेख आने शुरु हो गए और ऐतिहासिक परिप्रेक्ष्य में प्राचीन, मध्यकालीन तथा आधुनिक विज्ञान के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में काम कर रहे अनुसंधानकर्ताओं में बहुत रुचि पैदा हो गई।
यह वैज्ञानिकों, इतिहासकारों, समाजविज्ञानियों तथा दाशर्निकों के लिए वैज्ञानिक धारणाओं एवं प्रौद्योगिक प्रगति पर विचारों के आदान-प्रदान के लिए एक रोचक मंच बन गया। लेख अधिक संख्या में आने शुरु हो गए, अतः 1984में पत्रिका को त्रैमासिक कर दिया गया और हर वर्ष मार्च, जून, सितंबर, दिसंबर में प्रकाशित की जा रही है। अनुसंधान लेखों के अतिरिक्त पत्रिका में प्रासंगिक रूचि की रिपोर्ट, पुस्तक समीक्षाएं, परिशिष्ट और महत्त्वपूर्ण समाचार लेख भी प्रकाशित किए जाते हैं।

इंडियन जर्नल ऑफ प्योर एंड एप्लाइड मैथमेटिक्स
इंडियन जर्नल ऑफ प्योर एंड एप्लाइड मैथमैटिक्स (आईजेपीएएम) भारतीय राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान अकादमी (आईएनएसए) द्वारा प्रकाशित किया जाता है।
यह शुद्ध और अनुप्रयुक्त गणित, सांख्यिकी और अन्य संबंधित क्षेत्रों के सभी क्षेत्रों में मूल शोध के लिए समर्पित है।
यह अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर एक अच्छी प्रतिष्ठा और लोकप्रियता प्राप्त करता है।
जर्नल को विज्ञान प्रशस्ति पत्र सूचकांक, वर्तमान सामग्री, गणितीय समीक्षा, INSPEC विज्ञान सार तत्व (भाग A), Zentralblatt für Mathematik और दुनिया की सभी प्रमुख अमूर्त सेवाओं में अनुक्रमित किया गया है।
इसके संपादकीय बोर्ड में दुनिया भर के कई प्रतिष्ठित गणितज्ञ हैं।
अकादमी ने शुरुआत में INSA की कार्यवाही में गणित शोध लेख प्रकाशित किए।
लेकिन, गणितीय लेखों की भारी आमद को देखते हुए, इस क्षेत्र में एक अलग पत्रिका निकालने की आवश्यकता महसूस की गई।
इसके परिणामस्वरूप जनवरी 1970 में इंडियन जर्नल ऑफ प्योर एंड एप्लाइड मैथेमेटिक्स (IJPAM) अस्तित्व में आया। यह पत्रिका शुरुआत में त्रैमासिक थी, लेकिन प्रकाशित लेखों की संख्या में जबरदस्त वृद्धि के कारण, यह मासिक प्रकाशन बन गया। 1973. विभिन्न कारणों से, इसे 2006 से द्वैमासिक में बदल दिया गया था। इसने 2010 में एक उत्कृष्ट प्लेटिनम जुबली स्पेशल वॉल्यूम निकाला।
